Mellissa Norman - Business Consultant.

Mel has 18 years experience across film, TV, digital, interactive and social. She started her career working as an assistant to Lynne Ramsay (Ratcatcher) before moving through the ranks and working as a production manager/producer in both film and TV (Endemol, C4, Brighter Pictures)  and developing a slate of horror films working with Stuart Lee and other talented individuals.

Mel is passionate about business models and and strategy and has worked building companies in the creative and digital industries working with  BBC, Royal Shakespeare Company, PACT and Viadeo. She also worked with UNESCO and ITU bringing democratic decision making processes to a multi-national audience.

In 2011 Mel directed Social Media Week London and in 2007 won the ‘Socially responsive’ category at MIPTV’s 360 degree competition.

In a previous life Mel also worked as a sales and business consultant/coach for SBR consulting for clients including Npower, Business in the Community, Robert Half and Pathway Recruitment. 

Currently, Mel is the  Theme Champion for Business Models and Growth  for the Creative Industries Knowledge Transfer Network.

Her first job was selling books door to door in the Smoky Mountains where she learnt how to run away from big dogs, avoid houses with ornamental car parts and got addicted to frozen custard.
